I do not have a specific teaching style. Being a teacher is a learning experience for the teacher just as much as it is for the student. Every student learns a different way and can require a unique way of teaching. No one student will get the same teaching method. Overall, I do approach each lesson with patients, the wanting for the student to succeed and making the lesson fun but also productive. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
I concentrate on tone production and development of relaxed breath and embouchure control. Finger dexterity follows as matter of course, but good tone production is the key to playing the clarinet and saxophone. Read More

I believe it's important for beginning guitar players to get a balanced understanding of the guitar, while also taking the time to enjoy the simple milestones. These milestones vary for each student, depending on their personal goals but each stage of the learning curve presents its own unique set of challenges. My program is one that I have developed over the last 18 years. I use no method books. I ask my students to bring a blank manuscript book that I will fill up as we go forward. I also highly encourage all of my students to have a keyboard of some kind available to them, IE: a piano, organ, or even one of those battery-powered little CASIO keyboards that one can buy for $15-25 at a Salvation Army or Goodwill store. There is nothing better than seeing the face of a student light up when they grasp difficult concepts or sections of music. Positive reinforcement is the most important tool any teacher can have in their arsonal, and I try to praise my students every time I notice imporvements and support and assure them when confronted with difficulties. I set small goals, achievable goals for every lesson, so that my students can sense their progress in reaching their over-arching aspitations. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
My style is very relaxed and fun and I make the lessons very student focused. I do not believe in a 'monkey see monkey do' style where I simply show the student and have them repeat the concept or technique, but rather a discovery learning approach where I provide the needed support for the student to learn and apply the concepts. I also provide incentives such as rewards for practicing a certain number of hours a week. Read More

For young children I will start with the basics of music. Laying the fondation for years to come. With young children it is important to not overtax the voice and to consider their attention span. These lesson shouldn't last more than a half hour. For beginning students I want to focus on breath, posture, pure vowels and natural consonants. Also starting to work on musicality in the pieces we choose. Read More
