Jennifer D

Instruments:

I graduated in 2005 from Harding University with a Bachelors Degree in Vocal Music Education.   After graduation, I taught elementary music at Stafford Elementary for 6 years.   I sang with the Houston Symphony Chorus during the 2007, 2008, and 2009 seasons and sang with the Moores School of Music Choral Artists for a season.   In 2011, I left the public school to begin my own teaching studio.

Ametra E

Instruments:

My vision is to touch lives with the gift of music... I desire to share my passion for music with those who are music lovers and those who desire to play a musical instrument. I enjoy working with students and all audiences, but my reward comes when I can see the skills and talents of my students, progress and develop with a hope for them to become life-long musicians...

Bor Liang L

Instruments:

I believe teaching in music in an art that requires as much dedication and preparation as performing. When I teach, I don’t force a certain technique or method on students, but rather I teach what is best suited for them. On top of that, I always motivate my students with adequate goals. Most importantly, I will make sure my students enjoy music in the process of learning. I have a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University. While in Amherst, I performed leading roles such as Nemorino from L’elsir d’amore and Alfred from Die Fledermaus. In summer, I attended prestigious programs such as SongFest in Los Angeles and Orfeo Music Festival in Italy. In the past spring, I have performed as Priest in Akhnaten in Indiana University Opera Theatre. Currently, I am an Associate Chorister at Houston Grand Opera.

Ruth K

Instruments:

I am an experienced teacher who loves working with students and sharing my love of music with them.  Over the past three decades I have taught in the schools, for a performing arts school, through studios, eventually owning my own studio, and locally concertized as both a soloist and an ensemble performer.  Groups and students under my direction have won numerous awards and honors and concertized in many venues.  I am blessed to have many of my former students working as professionals in the music industry now and still keep in touch with them and their families.

Jose C

Instruments:

I started singing since the age of 12 and received musical training since the age of 14 throughout high school and also college.  I have many years of musical training and want all my students to be outstanding because I have a tradition of musical excellence.

More Information About Music Lessons

Many parents start their children with music lessons to enrich their lives and give them a fun activity outside of school. Music is a great outlet for students of all ages because it challenges both the mind and the body. Many studies have been conducted that suggest music can facilitate improved test scores in math and science, and can also promote improved language development in young children. The biggest benefit of studying music is that it lays a foundation for a lifetime appreciation of many types of music!
Live performing is a great asset to any musician. Musika offers recitals every year in the Spring, where students of all ages and levels can come together to show off their hard work! Our teachers help the students to choose and prepare their material, and Musika provides the venue and a piano accompanist if the student should need one.
In home drum lessons are a convenient option for improving your musical skills. In home lessons are virtually the same in every aspect as lessons taught in a studio. Lessons are taught once a week and significant progress can be made in a short time. Our teachers will suggest that students practice every day for the best results.
Your trial lesson will be a chance to meet the teacher, ensure student/teacher compatibility, and for the teacher to evaluate the students current level in order to create a custom lesson plan. We have a satisfaction gaurantee for all students - if for any reason you are not happy with the teacher after the introductory lesson it will be no charge and we can find a different instructor for you.
In order to safegaurd our students and provide a level of security to the in home lessons experience, Musika utilizes Intellicorp for its screening and background check procedures on all teachers, with a thorough background check being conducted on the national, state, and local county level.
