Instruments: Piano Cello
I've been studying and teaching cello since the 20th century. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to fluently read music and as time goes on you'll be able to perform classical literature or compose your own music. I have a historical basis behind my musical decisions so we will study old traditions and new ones from various sources. Piano and Cello are demonstrative so I will always have my cello or piano at hand. Read More

I am a freelance drummer based in New York City, and I have been performing regularly since 2004. As a performer, I've been fortunate to gain valuable experience performing, touring and recording with numerous bands in varying genres, which has allowed me to travel the world to perform and teach. I have performed at a number of New York City's top jazz venues, including Dizzy's Club, Birdland Jazz Club, The Jazz Standard, The Jazz Gallery, Smalls Jazz Club, and others. Read More

I was born and raised in Australia. I graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2000, and have since performed in a number of musicals and theatre productions in Oz, including Oklahoma, Les Miserables and The Vagina Monologues (2007 ITA Best Actress Award). As a critically acclaimed cabaret performer, I toured the cabaret and festival circuits in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth before moving to NYC last year. I am an Alumni of the International Cabaret Conference at Yale, won last year’s Annual Broadway Spring Festival Shana Farr Cabaret Competition and have since performed solo cabarets at the Metropolitan Room and The Duplex. I always begin a lesson with having the student play a song/piece of their choice, so that they can feel confident and comfortable in their own skin and in the lesson space. For wind instruments, long tones and scales will occur at the beginning of the lesson, and will be followed by study of an etude and/or piece of repertoire. I will ask the student to sing through the piece, so that the student can make a connection with their own voice and with the music, followed by the student reading through the piece with their instrument. Instruments: Flute
I also want to stress the variation of the type of music a student plays... learning different compositions in many styles, be it baroque, romantic, folk, or even just rock songs, helps a student to have more fun learning and also become more musically rounded and intuitive. I also always encourage my students to listen to the pieces they are playing! This gives them a better understanding of the piece as a whole. Read More

My teaching style can be shaped around what the student is looking to learn. I do stress in my lessons the importance of consistency of practice. 15 mins everyday is much more rewarding than 3 hours in one day. I like to write out everything that I explain in my classes to my students so that they have a reference of what they are learning. Also, I am a strong believer of singing the notes that the student is playing, especially in scale studies. Read More
Instruments: Drums Latin Percussion
My teaching style is based on few important axioms such as getting a proper technique and posture, expanding musical awareness and creativity, and having an open mind to different music and cultures. From that, I love to set goals with the student and work towards it. I will usually bring some work each lesson, and always leave space for something that the student wants to explore. I really want the student to be engaged and to be inspired. Read More
