Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar Banjo Mandolin
My methods are largely dependent upon the personality and learning style of my students. One thing is always constant in my teaching, and that is the monitoring of the students ability to read and interpret written music and tablature. The first week or two is devoted solely to establishing a basic ability to site-read music within the student. From that point, the journey into the world of guitar begins. I tend to employ the Hal Leonard method of teaching, following along with several of the Hal Leonard guitar books, for electric and acoustic guitars, also bass. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
With beginners, I always explore the very basics with them. This means we work on breathing and embrochure formation together. Along with this, we also learn the basics of reading music. From there on out, I use Breeze Easy Trumpet Method, Arban, Clarke, Irons, Bai Lin, Caruso, and Stamp to develop fundamental technique, based on what I think each student needs. With advanced students, I focus on interpretation and musicality, and developing a more induvidual approach to the horn. Read More

Music is like learning a new language. Its a completely different concept. For beginning children repetion is the key. Children love repetion so Suzuki is perfect. Its the same idea that the suzuki method comes with a CD that the child can listen to. Read More

In learning music, it is very important for students to have the freedom to explore and cultivate their own artistry. It is my job to guide their development with proper technique and discipline. When first meeting a student, I learn what their interests are and meet them at their level. Then I devise a strategy based on who they already are as a musician that will help them to advance. Instruments: Piano Keyboard
My methods vary as do each and every one of my students. I feel that a classical background is paramount in learning proper technique in piano. The student can add his/her own genre to the mix, once the fundamentals are achieved. (In fact, I recommend this highly). I like to offer some of the apps that Apple and Android computers have as there are many and suitable for all ages/levels. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I am a second generation musician who has the passion and desire to share the art of piano playing to my students. My love for the piano stems from my family's musical history, where my father and aunt introduced the classics to me at the tender age of 5. As I discover the beauty of piano playing throughout my high school years, I decided to enroll in the music education program at the University of the Virgin Islands. Read More
Instruments: Violin Cello Viola
I teach the basics using a combination of methods, customizing lessons to each student's skill level, ability level, and interest (classical/folk/modern). For beginning students I suggest using the Suzuki Method, or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once each student is ready to move beyond the fundamentals, I find exercises and solos to best fit and improve their skill level for recital performances, competitions, strings class/orchestra, or other activities.
