Devon G

Instruments:

I have a love for teaching as well as for learning, and am always sudying something new.  I have experience performing in a range of styles, from classical to jazz to rock and pop to bluegrass.  After graduating from Reinhardt University, I took contracts on cruise ships, playing electric bass in show bands and orchestras on Carnival and Princess cruise lines; this gave me the chance to see much of the world, as well as the opportunity to perform challenging music nightly.  I am now living in Norfolk, Virginia, and I teach and perform all over the Hampton Roads area.

Marcus P

Instruments:

Marcus grew up in various cities along the Eastern Coast of the United States. Throughout his school career, he sang in choirs and ensembles, which helped to shape his love of music. At the age of 15, Marcus received his first guitar, and has never looked back. Marcus moved to Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., where he sought to study under Jay Brighton. Jay had a profound influence on Marcus in the areas of music theory, ear training, and, most importantly, the discipline of practice.  After studying with Jay for a few years, Marcus moved to Virginia Beach, VA where he learned from players such as Scott Mishoe and Jay Rakes. In the mean time, Marcus began playing in various bands and recorded his first album Martian Landscape. At times, you would even be able to catch Marcus on stage with Paul Gilbert.  Upon graduating from high school, Marcus wanted to further his knowledge of the music industry, so he moved to Nashville, TN and attended Middle Tennessee State University to study Recording Engineering. During his college years, Marcus continued to play in several bands; he played on numerous recording projects; he taught private lessons; he played in musicals such as Little Shop of Horrors and Grease; and in his spare time, he studied under professional session guitarist, Gwain Reifsnider. Marcus is now working on new material, doing various studio dates, working with different bands and teaching private lessons in the Atlanta area.

Instruments:

I love to teach. I studied in Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, and Mathematics, but music and teaching have always been in my life, teaching students throughout high school and college at UGA as a second job.  I took trips to Mexico over the summers from 2002-2005 playing music for children and students in between manual labor mission work.  My music performance experience ranges from large outdoor venues in front of a large crowd to sitting and recording acoustic and electric lead tracks in a studio.

Jon O

Instruments:

I'm a dedicated music teacher who loves motivating my students to be their best. I teach voice, piano, and guitar, as well as beginners on brass instruments and steel drum. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a minor in Spanish. I love music as a way to challenge myself and others, to communicate things that words can't say, and to take us to new and exciting places.

Todd S

Instruments:

I'm all about helping new guitar players get from wanting to play, to be able to play. The path from can't play to playing well can be much shorter than you might think. Before I studied guitar in University, I was self taught. I know what it's like to struggle with the instrument and I"ve developed a system of teaching that focuses on results.  I look forward to meeting you online via skype!   Todd
