Noaide G

I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my talents through teaching. I have piano classic studies of 8-9 years from ACART Conservatory, in Sao Paulo, I know how to play/and teach transversal flute, and have participated in choirs, orchestras, bands, directed children's choir and recently am part of a singing group and Ensemble.

Gayla M

Instruments:

Ever since I was first starting piano lessons I knew I was to share my gift. As I started college my desire was not just play to share my gift but to teach as well. My passion is to pass on the ability to express onesself through music whether it be flute or piano. It gives me great joy to see my students excel and the "light bulb come on" as they progress in their playing ability.

More Information About Flute Lessons

"To start, Musika suggests renting a flute. Acceptable brands include Gemeinhardt, Yamaha, and Armstrong. For smaller players, a ""candy cane"" headjoint can balance the weight and make playing easier. As the flutist advances purchasing an open hole model with a B foot joint will produce a more mature sound."
In home flute lessons are an extremely convient option for busy students and parents. The student saves time and money and learns a new skill without having to leave the comfort of home!
Our teachers create a customized lesson plan for every student. Topics covered during Musika's flute lessons may include, but are not limited to: correct embouchure formation; how to appropriately shape your lips to blow into the instrument, how to develop a solid tone in low and high registers, how to hold, assemble, and clean the instrument properly, fingerings for notes, and techniques for developing quick finger action for passages, different articulation: how to slur or tongue cleanly, and most importantly, how to have fun playing the flute!
Flute can be an incredibly rewarding instrument to study as an adult. Of the woodwind instruments it can relatively easy to learn to play and most adults notice progress right away! The flute can be a wonderful instrument to play as a soloist or with fellow musicians.
The flute is the smallest instrument in the band and is therefore easy for young players to transport and hold. Musika recommends beginning the flute around 7 or 8 when the student is old enough to proper hold the instrument and press the keys. The flute does take significant amount of air so the player does need to have the lung capacity to produce a supported sound.
