Most beginners benefit from a method book, such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, which is a good starting place for most students. As students progress on their instrument, I choose the method books and solos that will best help them develop their talents as well as keep them engaged in the material. My teaching experience began in 2012 as a coach for students auditioning for middle school local honors bands. I have since been consistently teaching students of all ages for both auditions for honors ensembles/competitions and for basic flute training. Consistent practice is always a key focus with all of my students. I find that the best way to motivate students is by helping them the fun in learning!
