One of the most important things that I strive for is seeing a student enjoy themselves and discover a passion for music like I did. This is why I make sure my students are having fun and learning at their own pace. I will guide my students to set realistic goals that they can achieve by our next lesson time, and push them to express their own creativity and interests in their playing. Read More

I've been teaching for the past 7 years. I started out giving private lessons in my studio in israel. Later on when I moved to Boston, I began giving private lessons at students homes ( students age ranged from 9 - 45). During this time, while attending the New England Conservatory, I also gave master classes at public schools as part of an outreach program I participated in. After graduating NEC, I moved to New York. Read More

So that the student will be better prepared to perform repetoire as soon as they are ready. I believe it is important to find what inspires students as well as broaden their horizons. Sometimes we have never heard of something that speaks to us I always ask students what they enjoy listening to and playing. By using a students interests to inspire them, it can only help propel their progress. Read More

I am a musician and artist based in New York City and surrounding areas. I have been playing and studying music since I was a child and have deep love and knowledge for and of the art form. I have taught guitar and piano primarily, but also studied drum set and composition and would be excited to take on a drums or composition student. I've had the opportunity to perform with many musicians in the rock and jazz tradition over the years, as well, as a solo performer, and am always composing and arranging music, or gigging. I enjoy teaching students my craft in percussion whether it is drumset, world or classical genres. I have both experience in Orff and Kodaly methodology. I teach students to listen to each other and to learn and know the music that they play so that they are not playing just notes. They make the music, so what they play is there's to share. Playing the instruments require knowing the instrument that is being played and while they do this, they learn how to sing, and write the music and identify what styles and genres the music is intended. The one book I use for my students is Ted Reed's "Progressive Steps to Syncopation For The Modern Drummer". I use this book for my own benefit on a daily basis. Its interpretation and application is limited only by the student's or instructor's imagination. This book is such a great resource for assisting the student in learning basic reading skills. Once the student becomes familiar with recognizing certain rhythmic sequences, It enables them to study and learn from other publications with an increased level of facility. Read More

My teaching career began nearly 20 years ago as the assistant director of a concert band for senior citizens! I was about halfway through college when a music education professor asked me if I'd like the opportunity. From there I went on to teach full time or as a clinician and many middle and high schools in the DFW area, as well as Baylor University. My time living abroad in Brazil and Korea gave me the opportunity to work with both younger (elementary) and older (adult) students in very diverse environments. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
