Instruments:

I have been a successful teacher for over 25 years with students on various instruments. My students are successful because of ways to practice effectively, and through my own personal performances as a teacher in major cities across the country. My students have consistently done well in honor groups, have been accepted to major music camps, and have also placed highest in their school groups as well.

More Information About Clarinet Lessons

Clarinets come in either plastic or wood varieties. A wooden clarinet will be more durable and will also produce a more professional sound. Clarinets come in all sizes and price ranges, so it is important to keep your budget in mind when visiting a local music store. Many students will choose to rent the instrument monthly at first instead of committing to buying the instrument. Clarinets typically come with the bell, the lower joint, the upper joint, the barrel, and the mouthpiece.
In home clarinet lessons are extremely convenient for parents and students alike. Studying in home is no different than studying in a studio. Lessons are generally once a week.
Our teachers create a custom lesson and technique plan for each student. For the most part, lessons will focus around learning how to hold and care for the instrument, how to prepare it for playing, how to read music, sight read, and basic musicianship skills. Students will also focus on mouth position and breath support to play the instrument.
Adult clarinet lessons will provide technique on the instrument. Students can expect to learn a lot within the first few weeks of lessons. Teachers will encourage students to practice every day for the most progress.
Children generally begin to learn the clarinet at age 7 or 8. We suggest this age, because the student needs to be able to hold the instrument correctly and support its weight. The students fingers need to be the right size to play instrument, and the child needs to have enough lung capacity to support the sound of this instrument.
