Featured Indianapolis Clarinet Teachers

Samuel K

Instruments:

I am a current student at Ball State University studying to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Instrumental/General Music Education with an add-on in Vocal Education. I am passionate about teaching music and helping others reach their full potential on whatever instruments they want to play. I am versatile and can play on almost every instrument with piano as my primary focus. When I am not teaching, I spend my time practicing, performing, and always striving to improve on any and every instrument I have available. And when I can no longer practice, I normally find myself composing/arranging pieces and training my ears to hear music better.

More Information About Clarinet Lessons

We suggest that beginner students rent their instrument to start out. Clarinets come in either wood or plastic varieties, but the wood variety will be more durable and last longer. All clarinets come with a case, bell, lower joint, upper joint, barrel, and the mouthpiece. You would also have to purchase reeds or a reed making kit, as this is a neccesary item for this instrument.
Taking clarinet lessons in your home offers a great way to master your skills on the instrument without ever leaving your home! Many students and parents find this very convenient as there is no additional time for travel.
Our teachers create a customized lesson plan for every student. Topics covered during Musika's clarinet lessons may include, but are not limited to: learning the notes using a clarinet fingering chart, proper embouchure and tonguing technique, how to read music, how to care for your clarinet; which reed strength and mouthpiece to use, music theory, basic form and analysis, musicianship skills, or how to become a better musician, and most importantly, how to have fun playing the clarinet!
We have many adult students taking clarinet lessons. Learning this instrument is a great way for many adults to learn a new skill, and have fun in the process! In just a few lessons, our teachers can help you notice significant progress.
We suggest starting clarinet lessons at age 7 or 8. A student should be able to hold the instrument correctly, so their fingers must be large enough to do this. Playing clarinet also requires significant lung capacity, which can be difficult for a younger child.
