As a student begins lessons, they will need to acquire an instrument. A cello can come in different sizes, and while an adult will almost always play on a full size cello, it is important that children are matched with the right size. This can be done by your private teacher, or by any professional at the place of purchase, or rental. While some students may want to buy and own their own instrument, many students choose to rent. Renting can be beneficial in the sense that it is less of a financial commitment, and it is easier to go up in size when a young student grows out of their current instrument.
In home lessons is the most popular choice with Musika students. It allows both beginning and advance students to study their instrument even with very busy schedules. You will not spend time or money on traveling, and will have the same quality of lessons with our qualified instructors. Children and adults both love the idea of in home lessons as it allows learning to occur in the comfort and securtiy of their own home
Our teachers create a customized lesson plan for every student, so no two students' lesson plans will be identical. All skill levels and ages are welcomed by Musika. It is never to late to start learning, and our teachers work with adult students of all ages and abilities. We recommend children begin cello around age 7 or 8. With the cello being a larger member of the string family, it is important that the child is comfortable with the size of the instrument. Our knowledgeable teachers can help you choose the correct size. As beginning students, children are introduced to the technical aspects of playing, musicianship, and how to read and understand music.
