While advanced studnets may choose to buy a cello, beginning students will need to decide whether they would like to purchase or rent. Most all musical instrument stores will have a rental program where students can pay monthly for their instruments. Rentals for beginners offer many benefits. For children, they will be able to easily move up in size as they grow. Your teacher will be able to let you know what size is appropriate to start with. Beginning adults will almost always start with a full size cello, but renting is less of a financial commitment than buying a cello.
Musika offers customized one-on-one music lessons at your home - a time saving solution for busy parents and students. The convenience of in-home Cello lessons allows you to save time without having to transport your child to class, allows your child to maximize their busy schedule, and provides a safe and familiar environment in which to learn.
Every student is different, and each lesson will be different. There is no particular teaching style that Musika mandates, but if you are looking for a particular method, such as Suzuki, we would be happy to find a teacher that specializes in that. In lessons you will learn to read music, play with proper technique, and advance your musicianship skills. Some teachers will have students buy particular method books. These materials are inexpensive and will be used for teaching and practicing.
