My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, continued throughout my college experience, and is my current part time job at numerous music schools. I use a combination of determining where the student is currently at, areas the student wants to to improve, and my own profession assessment of where a great place for the student to begin would be in our lessons. Every student learns differently, so that's why he adapts to all situations and ensures his students are given the tools and knowledge they need in order to reach their full musical potential. For beginning students, I normally start with Alfred's Drum Method. This book works on the fundamentals of reading snare drum music and basic technique. Once the students grasps the basics on reading and playing with a metronome then we tend to move to Tommy Igoe's Groove Essentials (while still working on the Alfred's Method). After the student has began to play with the audio tracks and have succesfully gone through a few lessons from Groove Essentials then we begin to work on some solo repertoire and personal favorites as well. I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy. Whether it’s finding music theory in Taylor Swift song, or learning the guitar neck through a Beatles solo, I always find a way to teach through interests that the students have rather than force a cookie cutter approach. Hailing from Philadelphia area, I grew up in a family of professional musicians. My diverse musical life has brought me to a number of stages: solo recitals, jazz big band, and electro-rock to name a few. While I love playing, I bring just as much passion to teaching, and love helping people of all ages achieve their goals and to help them find their way. Learning music is as much about the journey as the end goal, and I try to make that journey as fun and worthwhile as possible. Read More

Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals of drumming, and as I get to know the student better, I will personalize their lessons, setting goals to learn specific songs or drum patterns that cater to their musical tastes and interests, which keeps them invested in their drum set practice. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I asses each student differently according to their skills and match my teaching approach to each one individually. It is very flexible and I can combine easily musical technique to what they want to learn, that way no matter how complex the musical subject might be the student will always have a clear idea how to apply those concepts to the music or genre they are studying because it is always focused on real application of a determined technical or musical theory concept, making the basement of the student more solid.
