If need be, I use certain books to supplement my lessons and for personal at home practice. Normally I only recommend books to students that want to further their understanding and ability in sight-reading, drawing from my own experiences learning from various books and online sources. I have been teaching students off and on since 2007. Regular practice has always been encouraged to my students, but I encourage even more to find the love in learning and playing music. I'm originally from Iowa where I grew up on a farm, eventually starting trombone in 3rd grade when my cousin gave me his old horn. After having a successful high school career I attended Iowa State University and earned a Bachelors of Music in trombone performance. Playing trombone has given me many wonderful opportunities in my life such as performing with the Boston Brass and Dallas Brass, performing in Europe three separate times, playing in the Southeast Trombone Symposium, and playing in many other bands, orchestras, and festivals.
